These are the images from the CDROM that came with the incredibly rare Japanese book, Spinner Dokuhon Final Plus 44
Enjoy! :)
The images are all presented in their original resolution, yep they're that small. Bit of a shame really.
How often does it happen? Too often with this film. Browsing around the web the other day, I came across a BLADE RUNNER poster* I hadn't seen before. It was a photo of Harrison Ford as Deckard, with an unfamiliar "BLADE RUNNER" logo, in yellow. At the bottom of the poster are the words "The National College Preview presented by Schlitz," with the Schlitz logo in place of the word.
{rokbox title=||}images/stories/posts/Blade-Runner_College-Preview-Poster-Schlitz_feat_Impact-Runner.png{/rokbox}
I suspect that these must have been produced prior to the general release of the movie, when the final graphics and logos had yet to be decided upon. These posters are very rare and good condition examples are extremely hard to find. I saw one on Ebay recently, I can't remember the exact figure, but $500 springs to mind. Ouch!
I quickly ran the logo through Photoshop, turning it black on white and uploaded it to the excellent WTF (What The Font) font identifier service. The result came back as "Impact." That old font!? That big chunky font, sitting in every Windows PC on the planet? Obviously it was an adapted version and finding no references to it, other than this poster and the cover of a book entitled "BLADE RUNNER - A Story of the Future," I took matters into my own hands and produced "Impact Runner," a font based on Impact, but with the minor adaptations displayed in the logo on the poster (and book). You can download it in the downloads section (Scroll down a bit, it's there.) Enjoy! :)

*The version linked to is a cleaned up version using "Impact Runner" to re-typeset the logo. Other fonts used are "Helvetica Condensed," "Century Gothic Bold" and "Helvetica Compressed," the latter of which I don't own, so had to substitute "Helvetica Condensed Bold."No, sorry, still didn't find it, but I have found something very similar. I used the excellent services at MyFonts to try and track it down, but I was out of luck with the image-based font identifier. I then posted in the forum and a user, ryukk, recommended "Opeln2001" as a substitute that, with work, could be made to look like the BLADE RUNNER Game Font.

- Jeff Minter, from his “History of Llamasoft”After each day's show was over we'd sometimes head off into London to eat or to go to the arcades in the West End, and at that time the excellent movie “Blade Runner” was just out in cinemas and the walls of the Tube had many posters up advertising it. I hadn't yet seen the movie myself (I would get to enjoy that a couple of weeks later), but the posters were striking; the name of the film and the typeface of the font looked interesting... and for some reason I was thinking about the next game I wanted to do, which I wanted to be another unexpanded Vic game but wasn't sure what it would be like at that point. And while staring at one of the Blade Runner posters waiting for the Tube, the name “Grid Runner” popped into my head. That felt like it could be a cool name for a game. Now all I had to do was think of a game to fit the name.
Italian rock band Memoria have developed a unique stageshow. They've written songs inspired by the movie Blade Runner and have received permission to show the movie onstage while they play live along side.

Made as a promotional piece for Philips Aurea HDTV, the SF short film, There's Only One Sun is a masterpiece of neon lit set design. Wong Kar Wai's other films include: In the Mood for Love, 2046, and My Blueberry Nights.
You can view the film at the Aurea site, but I got better results viewing it at the IT'S ART Forum - see link above.
Credits:Adobe Systems show off a 3D camera technology. The images can be manipulated in 3D using "focus layers" and a "focus brush." Incredible! Read the full article at C|net News. Looks like the Esper machine just became a reality!

I've been busy lately, concentrating on making t-shirts of my favourite movie, book and music images. Of course Blade Runner ended up with it's own category. Yes, I am pimping shirts, but I know you'll like them. Check out the Blade Runner section of my store. There are lots of goodies there, not just Blade Runner stuff.
Here's a selection of the Blade Runner…

Ripped to flac with EAC. I've generated a new front cover, it's not great but is
a better resolution than you can find elsewhere online.
Find it in the downloads audio section.

This fan project was started in 2008 by 'focuspuller' of originaltrilogy.com. His thread details his journey towards and the work done on his take of the Blade Runner soundtrack. BRCMC is to be a musically pure collection, meaning that it is devoid of sfx and dialogue, a dream that many of us in the BR fan community have shared for nigh on 28 years!

10 Tracks from Master Tape

This is really the one that started it all. Disappointed with the New American Orchestra version that was released in 1982, this tape was leaked out by disgruntled fans on the inside. The quality is far surpassed on subsequent boots, but it still holds interest if only as a curiosity and a historical reference.
I was pleasantly surprised to find this in my collection…

Broken stuff

You may have noticed over the last few days, broken bits on the site. We seem to be having js conflicts with some of the site components. K2 (the blog bit), SIG Pro (the gallery bit), RokStories (the header story thing), and RokBox (single image display). This is a bit of a let down, since I was led to believe that these things were…
